Baptism
Baptism at New Life Community Church in Inwood, WV is a public declaration that you have trusted Jesus Christ. We baptize by immersion, several times a year, and there is no cost or class required.
Common questions about baptism
- Who should be baptized?
- Anyone who has personally decided to follow Jesus. Baptism does not save you; it publicly announces the decision you have already made.
- What about my child?
- We baptize children who can explain in their own words what it means to follow Jesus. A pastor will talk with you and your child first.
- What do I wear and what happens?
- Wear clothes you can get wet in and bring a change and a towel. A pastor asks you a short question, you are lowered into the water and raised back up. It takes under a minute.
- I was baptized as an infant. Should I be baptized again?
- Many people choose to be baptized as believers after making their own decision to follow Christ. A pastor is glad to walk through it with you.
